On Sunday, October 25, McCormick Theological Seminary invites conference participants and the broader Chicago community to HEALING FORWARD, a special public gathering featuring New York Times bestselling author, poet, and spiritual teacher Cole Arthur Riley.
Presented by McCormick’s Trauma Healing Initiative, HEALING FORWARD will create space for an intimate conversation about healing, resilience, faith, belonging, and the possibilities that emerge when we imagine healing not simply as an individual journey, but as a communal practice.
Through bestselling works including This Here Flesh and Black Liturgies, Riley has become a compelling voice on dignity, embodiment, liberation, spirituality, and the healing of the stories we inherit. Together, we’ll explore a question that feels especially urgent for our time: What becomes possible when healing is something we practice together?
