Disrupting Trauma: The Power and Promise of Theological Formation brought together administrators, scholars, educators, students, and faith leaders from different paths and journeys to explore that question through interdisciplinary scholarship, spiritual reflection, embodied practice, and community engagement.
Together we examined how trauma-informed pedagogy, theological formation, and community care can foster empathy, strengthen ministry, and help theological schools move beyond awareness to action.

En muchas comunidades latinas, el trauma permanece silenciado, incluso en la educación teológica, donde puede persistir la expectativa de que una fe suficiente resolverá las heridas. Más allá de la concientización: PedagogÃas disruptivas en contextos de trauma responde a una profunda sed de espacios donde podamos nombrar esas experiencias, cuestionar los silencios y explorar cómo nuestras prácticas educativas pueden abrir caminos de sanación. Este seminario web invita a transformar el creciente interés en acciones pedagógicas concretas que integren la fe, el cuidado y la responsabilidad comunitaria.

The realities shaping theological education today are increasingly complex. Across institutions, congregations, and communities, leaders are navigating collective grief, burnout, polarization, institutional strain, and growing questions about vocation, leadership, and communal care.
These challenges are not simply operational concerns. They are deeply formative questions. They influence how we teach, how we lead, how we care for one another, and how we prepare leaders for ministry and service in a rapidly changing world.
At the same time, trauma is no longer a peripheral conversation. Its effects are visible in classrooms, congregations, communities, institutions, and within the lives of those called to serve. The need for practices that cultivate post-traumatic growth, compassion, wisdom, and hope has never been more urgent.
