Beverne Cordner, MPA, is Director of Operations and Writing Instructor for the Howard Thurman Center for Justice and Transformational Ministry at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace. She provides strategic leadership for institutional initiatives, community partnerships, and programs equipping clergy, nonprofit leaders, and community advocates to advance justice, healing, and transformational change. With more than 15 years of experience across government, higher education, and nonprofit sectors, her work spans public policy, health equity, trauma-informed leadership, faith-based advocacy, and community engagement.
Cordner holds a Master of Public Administration and Graduate Certificate in Public Finance Management from the University of Connecticut and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration at Tennessee State University. Her research and ministry focus on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress, and moral injury among clergy, caregivers, and helping professionals. She also develops healing fellowships, retreats, webinars, and community conversations that create restorative spaces for those who care for and support others.
