Dr. Eunil David Cho is Assistant Professor of Spiritual Care and Counseling and Co-Director of the Center for Practical Theology at Boston University School of Theology. A practical theologian, his research in pastoral theology and spiritual care brings together narrative studies, psychology of religion, trauma studies, intercultural studies, critical race theory, and religion and health. He teaches courses in spiritual care, chaplaincy, practical theology, and contextual analysis.
Dr. Cho is the author of Undocumented Migration as a Religious Experience (Brill, 2024) and co-editor of the forthcoming second edition of the Wiley Blackwell Companion to Practical Theology. In partnership with Dr. Shelly Rambo and Dr. Eric Brown, he also leads the Trauma-Responsive Congregations project, a multi-year Lilly Endowment-funded research initiative exploring how congregations can better understand and respond to trauma. An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), Dr. Cho brings together scholarship, spiritual care, and ministry practice in his work to cultivate more responsive and healing-centered communities.
